Two things greet New Idea at the front door of the home Paddy O’Connor shares with Sophie Dillman in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs – lots of laughter and some kisses from their pooch, Winnie.

“You’ll have to meet the most important member of the household first,” Paddy says with a chuckle as he reaches down to scratch and pat the 2-yearold cavoodle.

Knowing each other first as teenage friends growing up in Queensland, Paddy and Sophie reconnected as adults on the set of Home and Away, where they play couple Dean and Ziggy. Romance quickly spilled off-screen.
