Through no fault of his own, Dr Chris Brown has unwittingly found himself at the centre of a nasty catfishing scandal.

Using Artificial Intelligence (AI), hackers assumed his identity to convince British woman, Lucy Nock, that she was dating the Dancing with the Stars co-host. Eventually, they conned Lucy out of $22,800 — leaving her heart broken and pockets empty.

In 2022, Lucy received the first of many messages from a fake Instagram account posing as Chris. Lucy says she was in a vulnerable spot at the time after losing her partner in a car crash. A separate traffic accident later left her disabled.

The online con artist used AI to generate realistic-looking ‘photos’ of Chris to convince Lucy they were him.
