Amidst the GST bonanza bringing in the festivities early and the commotion around the right amount of ethanol-blend for your fuel, August turned out to be as eventful for India's auto industry as the previous months. A new EV brand landed on our shores, while iconic two-wheelers also returned to our streets. Here are the hottest car and motorcycle launches of the month gone by.

MARUTI VICTORIS

Price: Rs 10.5 lakh to Rs 19.99 lakh

Maruti Suzuki's midsize SUV Victoris has been launched, with six trims. Prices start at Rs 10.5 lakh ex-showroom and go up to Rs 19.99 lakh. It slots between the Brezza and Grand Vitara. It gets various powertrain options (mild-hybrid, strong hybrid, CNG), modern features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen, Level-2 ADAS, and is sold through Maruti Arena showrooms.

imageMAHINDRA BE 6 BATMAN EDITION

Price: Rs 27.79 lakh

The Mahindra BE 6 gets a limited-edition Batman version priced at Rs 27.79 lakh. All 999 units have been spoken for. It is mostly styling / cosmetic changes tied into the Batman theme (exterior/interior), but it is based on the BE 6 EV's existing platform and electric motor.

Price: Rs 7.95 lakh (starting price)

Citroen has revised the Basalt's trim lineup, adding an 'X' variant. The range-topping Max trim gets extra features and better materials. The starting price is Rs 7.95 lakh, ex-showroom. Some variants in the Basalt X Max are cheaper than before, as prices have been reduced in several trims.
