EXPERIENCING THE DAILY RHYTHMS OF ISLAND LIFE AS A LOCAL.

A Seychelles SUMMER

From tasting Creole flavours, wandering through UNESCO-listed palm forests, or unwinding by the sea, here is a glimpse into my island life.

BEING IN MAHÉ

The best way to truly feel like a local and understand a new destination is to step out onto the streets and explore on foot. I started with the local market in Victoria City, bustling with people and the lively chatter of vendors. There were colourful fruits, the freshest seafood, fragrant spices, and handcrafted souvenirs all around the complex. I could easily spot the juiciest fruits and the spiciest chillies here.

imageFrom there, I strolled through the charming streets lined with colonial architecture, taking in the rich history and character of Seychelles. I reached the National Museum of History which had more than 300 years of the history of Seychelles well-thoughtfully displayed. From the first references to the island to contemporary times, the museum highlighted key events and provided a glimpse into life of Seychelles at different times.
