THIS IS HOW YOU BLING

Issue 219 (November 2025)

We've seen it on the red carpets, in the streets, and even at our own parties. More and more men are accessorising with jewellery. I speak to Patsy Loo, Business Development Director at Aspial Lifestyle, to learn more about blinging up the right way.

THIS IS HOW YOU BLING

THE NOTION THAT FINE JEWELLERY is reserved only for women has been decisively shattered, as a new era of masculine self-expression sees men embrace 'bling' like never before.

This burgeoning trend is most visible on the world's highest-profile stages. Male celebrities are trading in traditional minimalism for opulent statements. At recent red carpet events, stars like Timothée Chalamet consistently wear dazzling pieces from brands like Cartier, while Colman Domingo has become a champion of the brooch and pearl necklaces, redefining elegance. From Jeff Goldblum's signature collection of statement brooches to Dwayne Johnson flaunting diamond tennis necklaces, these influential figures are making a powerful case that rings, chains, and elaborate pins are now essential components of the modern gentleman's luxury wardrobe.

But as with many things, accessorising the wrong way can be a major social faux pas, so I sought the expertise of Patsy Loo, Business Development Director at Aspial Lifestyle, the consumer lifestyle group that hold an array of brands including famed jewellery retailer Goldheart.

She tells me, “More and more men are embracing jewellery as a form of self-expression, and it's a shift we've observed strongly at Goldheart. What's exciting is that this trend cuts across age groups. We're seeing young men in their 20s experimenting with jewellery, while men in their 40s and beyond are also adopting bold pieces with confidence.”
