TO DATE, AUGUSTMAN REMAINS the longest serious relationship I've ever had with a man. As with any mostly-healthy, semi-stable relationship between a heterosexual couple, my relationship with the brand has not always been smooth sailing. There are highs. Plenty of highs. There were many moments when the line between lifestyle and work blurred into obscurity, when the numbers in my watch faded away after one too many drinks, or one too many deadlines. The fashion world has enthralled me in ways I cannot describe, and unfortunately, I have been utterly seduced by the liberty that comes with it.

When the cliffs are high, the drop is steep. And intimidating. At some point, I lost sight of the ground that my feet would safely land on. It has now become a void, a trust fall that I refuse to take a chance on.
