Mother does indeed know best. That thought often runs through Caroline Wright's mind when she's cooking at the blue range in the kitchen of her Salt Lake City home. As much as she loved the idea of a colorful range, she was veering toward play-it-practical white until her then-85-year-old mom gave her a reassuring nudge. "She said, 'Honey, blue never goes out of style. This is your color. Go for it," Caroline says. "I'm so glad I listened to her and don't have an all-white kitchen." That French range joins well-placed colors and patterns that Caroline and interior designer Hillary Taylor sprinkled throughout the kitchen and butler's pantry.
