A Greenwich, Connecticut-based design duo overhauls a main living space with comfort, storage solutions, and a bit of glamour.

To reinvent their home in Rye, New York—with a room fit for gathering with friends, game nights with family, and ample storage space—a couple turned to interior designers Erin Coren and Lina Galvão, cofounders of Curated Nest in Greenwich, Connecticut.

“Both the husband and wife are busy doctors, with two kids, who love to entertain,” explains Coren. “The vision was to create a functional and elegant family room that the family could live in and easily enjoy the day-to-day without being too precious or fussy about messes or spills.

For the family room, the goal was to create a luxurious yet timeless space that seamlessly blended with the adjacent kitchen. Utilizing a neutral palette with hints of salmon and built-ins awash in charcoal for contrast, they transformed the space into a haven for relaxation and cultivating meaningful memories while incorporating durable fabrics and storage solutions.
