The design of this seven-bedroom family home near Vapi, Gujarat, explores what a sanctuary can be — a place to live, and one that feels like a quiet retreat. It all began with a simple brief. “The homeowner envisioned a residence that would allow him and his family to host large social events, while also retaining an intimate scale for everyday living,” says Malay Doshi, principal architect at Studio Saransh. The verdant surroundings to boot gave Malay and his team the perfect mix of elements to thoughtfully shape this expansive 14,000 sq ft home. The homeowner's desire for quiet luxury guided all choices for the house. His practical yet refined sensibility is reflected in the materials that are in fact, the true protagonists of the story of this home.
