With sandstone installations, sunset views, and plenty of natural light, this 20-year-old Gurugram home, redesigned by Logic Design+Build, steps out of the shadows of its predecessor

If history is anything to go by, Anuj Kapoor isn't afraid of scaling new heights. The NCR-based architect recently confirmed this theory, crane-lifting massive slabs of natural stone up to the eighth and ninth floors of a residential tower, but not before cutting through the balconies to make room for the mammoth additions. "To be fair, there was no service lift," clarifies the founder and principal of Gurugram-based Logic Design + Build, about his latest project, a penthouse for a tri-generational family in India's Cyber City.

"Another day, another elevator episode. That's how it goes," muses Anuj, who pooh-poohs the incident as just another part of the job. His design approach borrows from practices of master architects who have embraced raw materials, simplicity, harmony of light and space, technology and innovation. He is willing to do whatever it takes for his vision to take shape in his projects-heavy lifting no bar.
