EVERYDAY BEAUTIFUL

Designed by Sheetal Agrawal, this Pune home is a soft-spoken space with bold, lived-in details
When a young family relocated to Pune, they knew exactly what they wanted — a home that would feel lived in from the beginning, with details that quietly celebrated the everyday. Set within a 1,500 sq ft, three-bedroom apartment, the brief was clear: timeless design, soft corners, and a layout that reflected their rhythm. “One of the first things they said was, ‘It should feel good to live in every day,’” says interior designer Sheetal Agrawal, founder of The Canvas Project. “They weren’t looking for trends. They wanted a thoughtful design that would age well.”
Inspired by the Wabi Sabi philosophy, Sheetal approached the project with a light but intentional hand. Materials were selected for their tactility rather than ornament, and spaces were shaped around how the family would actually use them. The entrance opens with a full-height storage and display unit, offering glimpses into both the living and study areas. “We didn’t want the foyer to be just a transition. It sets the tone for the rest of the house,” she says.
