RAISE THE ROOF

An architectural overhaul allowed the owners of this house to brighten up their kitchen's colour palette and give pink a chance
The owners of this bright kitchen have enjoyed living all over the world, so they knew any home they officially settled in would need to be something special. When it came time to put down roots, they chose London, where they're from originally. They found a place they loved, lived in it for a few years to get the lay of the land, and then started to mould it into their dream home. John Lewis of Hungerford was brought in to do the kitchen.
“It was quite a big renovation project, even though the room didn’t change size,” recalls the company’s design director, Rebecca Nokes. “A generous roof light was put in, as well as glass doors. The old kitchen was very dark wood, very contemporary. It wasn’t right for this family and had to go. They are fun people and were keen for the space to feel light and airy.”
