Light, bright and packed with storage: this stylish kitchen renovation was worth the wait

“We just wanted something fresh and clean,” says Emma Carberry of her new kitchen in Glasgow. “It all started with the worktop from Cosentino. I fell in love with the veining in it and the subtle tones which meant it didn’t feel too busy. Everything moved outwards from there.”

When Emma and her husband Robert moved into the house in 2018, their kitchen was a small, cramped galley. This space was a dining room and playroom for the couple’s three kids, but they decided it would be better as a larger kitchen with a utility and WC next door. “We knew it would be a lot of work, and an expensive job, so we saved up for years and did other bits in the house along the way. The kitchen was the last big project we needed to do, and it has totally transformed how we live.”
