Globally renowned ceramicist Jane Yang-D'Haene's first-ever exhibition in the subcontinent is set to open at Mumbai's Nilaya Anthology.

SHAPING MEMORY

November marks ceramic artist Jane Yang-D'Haene’s subcontinental debut with a show at Mumbai's Nilaya Anthology.

The prolific Brooklyn-based ceramicist has an oeuvre of over 50 exhibitions with shows at Frieze LA, Design Miami and The Future Perfect. More recently, she created an exclusive piece for Loewe's teapot exhibition at the 2025 Milan Design Week. Her extraordinary creations draw on archetypal Korean forms, such as the dal hang-ari (moon jar), to sculpt pieces imbued with history yet contemporary, whimsical yet rooted, personal yet universal. The works have been acquired by museums, including the Brooklyn Museum and the Smithsonian American Art Museum's Renwick Gallery, signifying her importance as an artist redefining traditional forms and cultural narratives for a contemporary world. D'Haene talks about ‘The Place That Waited’, and the process that brings her work to life.

What theme does ‘The Place That Waited’ explore?
