Set in two acres of gardens in the Nottinghamshire countryside, this large 1950s-built house was ideal for family life with young children - except for one room, as Jamie Krantz of Krantz Designs explains. 'The kitchen was small and cut off from the dining room, as was typical of the time the house was built,' he says.
