CAC GRADING NOW APPROVES AND CERTIFIES

- Mike Fuljenz

Coin Industry's Version of the Good Housekeeping Seal

In 2007, the Certified Acceptance Corporation (CAC) was originally founded as a service that rendered its approval of a coin's certified grade by affixing a sticker to the holder of the encapsulated coin. CAC was founded by respected numismatist John Albanese and 22 other prominent members of the numismatic community.

In 2023, CAC was transformed into a full-fledged grading and encapsulation service, a business it now operates in addition to its sticker function. Albanese, an original co-founder of the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) and founder of the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), has the experience, knowledge and respect to begin this new venture in grading excellence.

CAC GREEN STICKERS

When CAC was strictly a stickering service, its mission was to be a verifier of the grades of coins certified by leading grading services such as PCGS and NGC.

CAC, as a stickering service, only recognizes coins that its experts believe are solid for the grade, not low-end "just made it" coins. Out of all the certified and graded coins submitted to CAC, less than half get its coveted green CAC holographic sticker, the verification of grade seal affixed to the upper part of the front of the coin holder.
