For the not-so-little Prince George, the year ahead is shaping up to be a monumental one - and his mother, the Princess of Wales, is right by his side.
In 2026, George turns 13, and his whole world is about to change. In addition to the Waleses' recent decision to find their 'forever' home and move down the road from four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage to eight-bedroom mansion Forest Lodge, he will also be going to secondary school.
Keeping things normal
It will be a time of major upheaval for them all, but the Prince and Princess of Wales are keen not to interrupt the lives of their eldest son and his siblings - Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - too much. And moving out also means moving on, following Kate's cancer diagnosis in 2024 and Queen Elizabeth II's death.
A source says, 'Windsor has become their home. However, over the last few years while they have lived at Adelaide Cottage, there have been some really difficult times. Moving gives them an opportunity for a fresh start.'But for Kate and William, both 43, their priority over and above their royal roles is their children and their happiness. Kate, in particular, is said to be making sure that George, who is second in line to the throne, has as normal a life as possible, considering his future job as monarch.
