Short bursts of vigorous activity can almost halve the chances of a heart attack—especially for middle-aged women.

Just 90 seconds of vigorous exercise every day can protect the heart, and that’s great news for people who don’t go to the gym, say researchers from the University of Sydney.
Simple tasks such as climbing stairs, carrying heavy shopping or walking uphill could be enough, as long as it lasts for at least 90 seconds, although the optimal time is around four minutes every day.
