Gamebird general licence update a relief for many

After a catalogue of delays and confusion, the general licence GL43 was finally due to be released as The Field went to press. Environment secretary Steve Barclay also announced that a substantial number of Special Protection Areas (SPA) will be covered by a new general licence: GL45.
-
This will allow the release of gamebirds without the need to apply for individual licences.
However, shoots in areas not covered by this new licence will still have to apply for an individual one.
