MARRIOTT'S HOSPITALITY MAGIC: SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES AND BEYOND

He shares his invaluable perspective on how the hospitality industry is embracing sustainable practices, his remarkable journey thus far, and so much more.

Can you tell us about your background and how you got started in the hospitality industry? 

After passing out from The Doon School, Dehradun and graduated from the Taj Institute of hotel management in Aurangabad, I’ve always had an inclination for food and beverage and then eventually when I was hired by the Marriot in the executive development program, I joined in the sales and marketing department. Started my carrier as a Sales Executive in 2008 and currently working as the Cluster Director of Sales responsible for over 40 hotels in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia & Myanmar.

What have been some of the most rewarding experiences of your career so far, and how have they shaped your approach to hospitality?

Khao Lak a dream destination in Thailand was swept away by Tsunami. One of my most rewarding experiences was to open the door for the JW Marriott Khao Lak into the Indian Market.

The Bangkok Marriott Marquis, being the flagship Marquis in Southeast Asia, was a proud partner for the prestigious Bollywood IIFA Awards. This event enhanced the hotel’s repute immensely and it was a sweet win as the entire city of Bangkok was pitching for it.

Hosting a Prime Minister & its delegation was a great privilege and experience.
