The rise in our city temperature is a clear indication that the body needs just more than your regular H2O (water) to stay hydrated. When we sweat our body not only gives out water but also releases sodium & potassium which are essential electrolytes which help us maintain our body temperature.

Here are the Smartest Ways to Stay Hydrated while Exercising in the Heat:-
1. Start your day with a glass of water with a pinch of sea salt and lemon. This helps you replenish your electrolytes and instantly hydrates you, after long sleep.
2. Infuse your water with hydrating fruits and vegetables like cucumber, mint, watermelon, lemon, celery etc. This not only hydrates us but also provides our body with water soluble vitamins & minerals which are lost due to perspiration.
3. You can add electrolyte effervescent tablets to your water for effective hydration as they check all the boxes where complete hydration is concerned. They provide faster absorption.
4. Another effective way is to eat your water through fruits and vegetables, including citrus fruits and vegetables like bottle gourd, tomato, cucumber, etc in your diet.
5. Coconut water is another great way to replenish our electrolytes, especially potassium.
6. Including chia seeds by soaking them in water for a few hours and then consuming creates a hydrating gel which is great for gut health and lowers body temperature.
7. Avoiding excess of caffeine and tea can also help as too much consumption of these leads to dehydration.
8. Limit your intake of alcohol as it hinders the absorption of essential vitamins and minerals.
9. Always time your water breaks with something that you generally don’t tend to forget. For example, every time you send an email, drink a glass of water.
