ICON, IN ITS OWN RIGHT

It was 1996 when the renowned French makeup artist François Nars came up with what would become his makeup label's most recognised product – The Multiple, a multipurpose makeup stick that can be used on your lips, cheeks, and eyes. First conceptualised at a magazine shoot, this product was way ahead of its time. Now, nearly three decades later, it's relaunching with a more advanced, better formula that'll give you the modern-day monochromatic makeup look.

Ahead, Jane Richardson, global artistry director, NARS Cosmetics, tells us the key to perfecting the look, her go-to way of using this product, and what we can expect from this reimagined formula.

GRAZIA: How can we add dimension to a monochromatic makeup look?
JANE RICHARDSON: Varied shades and textural differences are what I use the most for this. When it comes to varying the shades, simply use deeper or lighter shades within the same colour family for a beautifully subtle gradient. For textural differences, you can play with a matte shade and something that has more shimmer.

G: In what ways has the newly imagined 'The Multiple' evolved from its original formula?
JR: The Multiple now delivers longer-lasting wear and has new vibrant shades sure to enhance any complexion. As for the application method, it's still as easy to blend as the original formula and versatile in its use as it always was.

G: What shades or colours would you suggest for Indian skin tones when trying out this look?
