The fun and fanfare begins in Liverpool as the semi-finals get under way...

Hello, bonjour and ciao to all Eurovision fans - Liverpool is calling! The music extravaganza arrives in the city famous for The Beatles and Cilla Black, and the excitement is bigger than ever, as it's the first time Eurovision has been held in Britain for 25 years.

With 2022 winner Ukraine unable to hold the event due to the war with Russia, the BBC's stepped in to host following Sam Ryder's second-place finish for the UK last year.
