What can we learn from the recent spate of plane crashes?

On 29 December 2024, student Geun-woo Park's parents were on board a flight from Bangkok to South Korea when his mum, Oh Inkyung, texted him to say she'd seen a bird fly into the engine. She jokingly added, 'Should I leave a will?'

Tragically, both Geunwoo's parents and 177 other passengers and crew members died in the resulting crash, making it South Korea's worst ever aviation disaster.
