A year after Jamie Tate’s car plunged into a lake, Kim finally discovers that her missing – presumed dead – son is, in fact, alive and well. It’s a bit of a shock, but really shouldn’t be. Kim, too, once faked her own death, remember? She employed a bunch of actors to play the likes of a police officer and a pathologist. Heck, she even got hold of a body bag.

It’s Hazel, mum of Jamie’s ex Andrea, who breaks the news. At the start of the week, she’s due to bring Jamie and Andrea’s daughter, Millie, over for a visit, but the pair fail to show up, and Hazel eventually calls to say she’s in hospital after a car crash.
