South Korean designer EUDON CHOI on joining Patrick Grant and Esme Young in the Sewing Room

Born and raised in South Korea's capital Seoul, London-based fashion designer Eudon Choi is delighted to be swapping the runway for a collection of challenges as a guest judge on The Great British Sewing Bee's first appreciation of Korean style and stitching techniques.

'It means so much to have our fashion celebrated on a show like Sewing Bee,' smiles the couturier, who is renowned for his elegant tailoring and structured womenswear. 'I feel people are really interested in Korean culture right now – from K-pop music and food to Netflix's [survival drama] Squid Game. There's a real appetite for it.'

Assisted by the BBC1 show's regular judges, Patrick Grant and Esme Young, Eudon will set the remaining stitchers' Pattern, Transformation and Made-to-Measure tasks inspired by the rich textile traditions of his home country.
