Since Brighton-based crime drama Grace debuted on ITV1 in 2021, DS Bella Moy has become a firm favourite with fans of the series. 'Maybe they like her because she's smart, empathetic, has a sense of humour and does not suffer fools gladly,' explains Laura Elphinstone, who plays the East Sussex Police cop, in an exclusive chat with TV Times.

But the sudden departure of Bella's partner DS Norman Potting (Craig Parkinson) following his cancer diagnosis was a big blow for her. 'It's been difficult for Bella, especially as she can't be there to support Norman through his cancer journey,' says Laura. 'She knows he left because he was trying to protect her but not being able to help goes against all her instincts. Her coping mechanism is to throw herself deeper into each case.'
