Anna Samson is on cloud nine when she joins TV Times for a chat about Return to Paradise. Not only is the Australia-based Death in Paradise and Beyond Paradise spin-off whodunnit returning to BBC1 for a second outing this week, the show recently won the Best Drama accolade at the Logie Awards - the Oz equivalent of the National Television Awards.

'We're thrilled with what we have achieved,' smiles the actor, 35, who plays central character Detective Sergeant Mackenzie 'Mack' Clarke. "The fact people took Mack into their hearts and decided that this woman, who's not always polite or sweet, was easy to love, was very cool.'

The first run saw Mack accused of tampering with evidence while working for London's Metropolitan Police and forced to head back to her sun-soaked home town of Dolphin Cove.

As we rejoin the action, the new six-part run finds Mack still unravelling mysteries in the (fictional) beachside hamlet, as well as navigating matters of the heart after overhearing her former fiancé, forensic pathologist Glenn Strong (Tai Hara), admit he was still carrying a torch for her.
