Can England and Wales scale the heights at Euro 2025?

The tag line for Euro 2025 is 'the summit of emotions' - a fitting reference to host nation Switzerland, where 16 countries will be seeking to reach the pinnacle of football success.

The Alpine nation is staging the tournament for the first time, welcoming football fans from across the continent, with a global TV audience projected to reach 500 million viewers.

Sadly, Scotland and Northern Ireland failed to qualify for the finals, but the home nations are represented by England and Wales. The Lionesses arrive as reigning champions following their unforgettable win over Germany in the 2022 final at Wembley, while the Dragons are making their debut.

Teams are split into four groups with the top two progressing to the quarter-finals. The action kicks off with two Group A games on Wednesday when Iceland take on Finland in Thun (5pm, ITV1), before hosts Switzerland get under way against Norway in Basel (8pm, BBC1).
