From tropical paradises on the equator to the ice sheets of Greenland, the Atlantic Ocean contains an extraordinary variety of land masses.

Now, in ITV1's three-part travelogue Islands of the Atlantic, Martin Clunes is showcasing the culture, history, landscape and wildlife of a range of isles across the ocean's 30 million square miles.

'I didn't know what to expect. Atlantic islands might feel less exotic because we've got an Atlantic coast ourselves, but they're all so different,' says Clunes, who has previously profiled the islands of Britain, Australia, America and the Pacific.
