Set in the fictional town of Merrick, Oregon, the series follows the overworked staff of an underfunded hospital as they deal with a revolving door of patients and problems.

The Goldbergs' Wendi McLendon-Covey stars as Joyce, an oncologist turned executive director, who has aspirations of putting St. Denis on the map as a centre of excellence.
