CROSSING the LINE

Out There

Sunday & Monday, 9pm, ITV1 (box set, ITVX)

Centred around the deadly world of county-lines drug dealing, Martin Clunes' latest hard-hitting drama, Out There, sees him play Welsh farmer Nathan Williams, whose family and business come under threat when his son is targeted by a ruthless gang.

The six-part ITV1 series, shot on location in Wales, opens with widower Nathan keen to expand his farming business, which has been in the family for generations. However, his teenage son, Johnny (Louis Ashbourne Serkis), falls into the wrong crowd when he reconnects with an old friend, Rhys (Gerran Howell), who is now a drug dealer.

As Rhys tricks Johnny into running drugs for him to pay off a debt, Johnny is spotted by local cop PC Jane Crowther (Eiry Thomas), and events quickly take a terrifying and deadly turn... Here, in an exclusive interview, Clunes, 63, tells us more...

How do Nathan and Johnny become embroiled in the dangerous world of drugs?
