But we are not in Whitehall – we are at Liverpool’s stunning Town Hall, which is doubling up for the corridors of power in London, to watch filming for the third season of Sky’s political thriller COBRA, this time subtitled Rebellion, as Prime Minister Robert Sutherland (Robert Carlyle) faces a myriad of new threats to his troubled administration.

After dealing with the fallout from a solar flare and a cyberattack in previous seasons, as the six-part run begins, the PM is challenged by environmental activists Planet Resistance, who are demonstrating against the construction of a new railway line.

Sutherland and wife Rachel (Lucy Cohu) are horrified to learn that daughter Ellie (Holly Cattle) has joined the group, and matters take a shocking turn when a sinkhole opens up during the demo, with tragic results.
