Inside Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo's Surprising Divorce-and Their Plans to Still Have a Baby Together

When Jelly Roll won a Grammy for best contemporary country album in February, he dedicated most of his tearful speech to his wife, Bunnie Xo, who looked on proudly in the audience.

Bunnie (with Jelly at the Grammys in February) said they spoke for two hours before she recorded her podcast.

“I would have never changed my life without you. I would have ended up dead or in jail. I would have killed myself if it wasn’t for you and Jesus,” he told her. “I thank you for that.” Since Jelly’s rise to fame, the country star, 41, and the Dumb Blonde podcast host, 46, have been vocal about the fact that they’ve made it through some of life’s toughest storms together—which is why fans were shocked when news broke that he filed for divorce from Bunnie on May 18, just a few months shy of their 10th wedding anniversary.

Bunnie told People in February that she and Jelly (on Feb. 22) had "evolved together" since meeting.

The singer (born Jason DeFord) cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split and noted their date of separation as May 9. “The reality is that he will always love her, but that doesn’t mean that he wants to stay married. He’s in a very different place than he was when they met,” a source says of Jelly, who recently shed 300 lbs.

Bunnie acknowledged the split will be a "weird transition" for Bailee (with Jelly and Bunnie in 2024).
