FLORALLY ENTWINED

Let the traditional bun take a backseat as you explore a contemporary bridal hairdo.

The modern-day bride knows her mind. With a carefully-curated wedding mood board, she wants her personality and preferences to reflect in every inch of her bridal look. From unconventionally-hued lehengas to experimental hair and makeup looks, she’s here to have fun and not fit into any conventional mould. This fishtail braid with floral adornments complements her eclectic vibe.
To strike a balance between texture and sleekness, use a conditioning shampoo that seals the hair cuticles and showcases the natural finish of the locks. Use a heavy hair mask to nourish the ends well since they will be exposed to a lot of styling products. After blow drying your hair, give it a side parting and tie it into a ponytail in the opposite direction. Divide your ponytail into two parts. Start crisscrossing small sections of hair from the outside of one section to the inside of the other all the way down until you achieve the braid, and secure it with a hair elastic. Gently fluff up the hair and spritz on texturising spray to maintain the volume. Pull out a few strands on the side and add soft curls towards the bottom using a tong. Carefully insert floral embellishments or wispy blossoms into the braid, and secure with invisible hair pins. Apply taming elixir on the mane and ends to seal the look.

"UGH, I HATE HOW I LOOK!"
If the title to this feature is a sentence that goes off in your head every time you stand in front of the mirror, you need to keep reading. No, this is not your run-of-the-mill self-love spiel that will magically change your self-image by the end. It won't. And it definitely won't silence the voices that have told you to fix, hide, and erase parts of you deemed “too much” or “not enough”. What it will do is offer something rare: a reason, however small, to stop waging war with your reflection, and feel a little better about coming home to the person who's been there all along. You.
