Is it just about drinking water? No! Dietician Dr Archana Batra shares 10 practical ways to help you ace the hydration game

ARE YOU HYDRATING RIGHT?

Hydration goes beyond just drinking water, especially for Indian women who often face busy lifestyles, an extreme climate, and unique nutritional needs. Proper hydration is vital to maintain energy levels, skin health, digestion, and overall wellbeing. Here's what Indian women need to know about hydration beyond just sipping water:

image1 ELECTROLYTE BALANCE MATTERS

Why it's important: In hot and humid regions of India, sweating causes a loss of essential electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, and magnesium. Without replenishing these, you might feel fatigued, dizzy, or experience muscle cramps.

Make it work for you: Incorporate coconut water, lemon water with a pinch of salt, or electrolyte-rich drinks such as buttermilk (chhaas) to restore balance. These natural remedies help hydrate while providing vital minerals.

image2 HYDRATE WITH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

Why it’s important: Many fruits and vegetables are rich in water content and help maintain hydration levels. Watermelon, cucumbers, oranges, and strawberries are excellent choices for staying hydrated while providing essential nutrients.
