April 2025

Nitin Jain of Skandha highlights scalability, agility, and enhanced user experience as key drivers for cloud playout adoption amid rising OTT platforms and declining linear TV viewership. Skandha supports broadcasters and OTT platforms with hybrid solutions, managed services, and AI-powered tools like BluLive Pro and Evince to streamline workflows and boost monetization.

SKANDHA DRIVES CLOUD PLAYOUT ADOPTION FOR M&E ORGANIZATIONS

Why are more and more of today's M&E organizations considering cloud playout?

Nitin Jain: There are three major reasons: 1. Scalability, in particular when it comes to developing FAST, SVOD channels and streaming of live events, 2. Agility - to be able to adopt and update technology more quickly, and 3. UX: To deliver an enhanced end user experience. The rise of OTT platforms, declining viewership of linear TV, operational costs of traditional models and the need to monetize are all big drivers for cloud adoption.

Skandha has always been ahead of the curve in being able to offer cloud playout services, but we've always been conscious of delivering services at the right pace for the customer. That's why we have a hybrid architecture to offer a mix of on-prem and cloud playout services. We also provide downlink, transcoding, packaging, and distribution services, alongside our Ad insertion and Evince AI-powered Ad verification solutions.

What is holding organizations back from cloud playout?
