From Kochi take a drive to Alappuzha district. There you shall find along the coast of backwaters, Alleppey, "The Venice of India". Featured with beautiful canals, boats, houseboats and narrow walkways, its a surreal feeling.

An overnight stay at the houseboat is a must have experience. Book your boats much in advance. The houseboats take you on en evening ride while they serve you tea and snacks. the ride goes on the backwaters with cool breeze and such a relaxing experience to be enjoyed at their deck.

By dark they will ark near the coast. Don't forget to buy some local wine and tiger prawns and ask your cook to cook it. Enjoy the dinner under stars and sleep on boat in slow moving water. Next morning have another ride on water with local breakfast.

JATAYU EARTH CENTRE

While you are traveling from Kochi to Thiruvananthapuram, you will come across an adventure centre called "Jatayu Earth Centre". Its a newly built monument on a hill with a temple. There's a cable car which can take you to the top or you can choose to walk.
