100 Best YOUNG UNIVERSITIES IN INDIA
Careers 360
|June 2025
Careers360 has ranked the top 100 public and private universities established since 2010. Another 500 institutions have been rated, providing a comprehensive guide to the best new universities

For this edition of the Young University Rankings, we have considered institutions established over the last 15 years, from 2010 onwards. Of the 816 institutions to start functioning during this period, we focused on 750 degree-awarding institutions, shortlisting approximately 500 for ranking. Institutions established this year have been excluded from the process.
Following thorough data analysis and verification, the final list features the top 100 institutions, with 50 public and 50 private universities ranked. The remaining institutions have been categorised and ranked by domain, with domain-specific rankings derived from overall institutional scores. This year’s rankings feature the highest number of institutions ever.
The STEM category includes institutions offering programmes in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This year, we have increased the number of ranked institutions across domains. We have also considered international accreditations and partnerships with top global institutions in our assessment.
As in previous years, young universities have also been rated. Institutions with insufficient data for comprehensive evaluation have been assigned ratings based on historical data. While such institutions are excluded from detailed rankings, the ratings help prospective students make informed choices. For institutions for which current-year data was not available, we used their average score from the previous year for assessment.

Education's Heroes
In India, education is shaped not only by policies and institutions but also by the people who refuse to accept inequality as the norm. They come from courtrooms, laboratories, medical colleges, village squares, and city streets, bound by a belief that learning must be a right for all, not a privilege for a few. Some take on entrenched systems through litigation and advocacy; others create small but lasting change through libraries, community classrooms, and grassroots campaigns.
