The fashion designer Dame Mary Quant has died. She was 93.

Born and raised in Blackheath, south-east London, Dame Mary was educated at Blackheath High School and then studied illustration at Goldsmiths college. After graduation, Dame Mary began an apprenticeship at the high-end Mayfair milliner Erik of Brook Street.
