Amal & George THE TRUTH ABOUT THEIR MARRIAGE

The audience was packed with A-listers. Journalists, actors, musicians and socialites hobnobbed with George Clooney’s longtime BFFs Rande Gerber, Cindy Crawford and Richard Kind as the Oscar winner made his Broadway debut in the stage version of his 2005 film Good Night, and Good Luck at Manhattan’s Winter Garden Theater on April 3.

Many of his old co-stars also showed their support (see sidebar), and he even had an ER reunion with Noah Wyle, Julianna Margulies and Anthony Edwards. “So very proud of my friend,” Noah wrote on Instagram on April 4. “So very happy for the reunion.”

But the person closest to George missed the whole thing: His wife of more than 10 years, Amal. “She’s with the kids,” George explained to reporters. The excuse — and her absence — “definitely raised a lot of eyebrows, which brought up all the divorce rumors that have swirled around them for years,” says a source. “But the truth about their marriage is that they’re content raising a family together without having to be around each other all the time.”
