Almost 24 years after Peter Falconio vanished without a trace, the man who took his life looks set to take the secret of his whereabouts with him to the grave. Reports have emerged that Bradley John Murdoch, who was diagnosed with terminal throat cancer in 2019, has recently been moved from prison in Alice Springs to palliative care.

With the 67-year-old convicted killer continuing to refuse to shed any light on the events of the night he shot Peter and tried to abduct his girlfriend, Joanne Lees, authorities are making one last attempt to get the Falconio family the answers they so desperately need. Northern Territory police announced a $500,000 reward on June 25 for information that leads to the recovery of the missing backpacker's remains. Previously, $250,000 had been on offer.
