MONARCHS in the MAKING

Wearing an embroidered gold Chantilly lace gown over a silk crepe dress by Phillipa Lepley and the Lover's Knot Tiara, the Princess of Wales made a dazzling appearance as she entered St George's Hall alongside Prince William for a banquet during the US State Visit on September 17.

The decadent dinner capped off a busy day of events that saw the Prince and Princess of Wales, both 43, roll out the red carpet, giving President Donald Trump and his wife Melania the royal treatment.

Earlier that day, the royal couple greeted President Trump, 79, and the First Lady, 55, in the grounds of Windsor Home Park as they landed by helicopter, escorting them to Victoria House where King Charles and Queen Camilla were waiting. The group then travelled in spectacular fashion by carriage to Windsor Castle, where the largest ever Guard of Honour for a state visit, comprising 1300 military personnel, was waiting. Following calls from the US for the UK to increase its defence budget, the Red Arrows conducted a flypast.
