THE NEW ZEALAND NATIVE AND YELLOWJACKETS STAR REVEALS HOW SHE MADE LOTTIE HER OWN

When Simone Kessell received the news – spoiler alert! – that her Yellowjackets character, Lottie, would meet her fate early in the third season of the show, she was just as shocked as viewers tuning in earlier this month. “I was away working in Montreal on a different show and I had a Zoom with the showrunners. And I'm like, ‘OK, where are we going with this?’” the actress recalls to WHO. “And they're like, ‘OK, so Lottie dies.”

Fans had come to love the kaftan-wearing, guru-like adult version of Lottie after she first appeared in Season 2 and, like Kessell, many felt her character's demise was premature. Here, the New Zealand-born star, 49, chats about letting go of Lottie and leaving Yellowjackets behind.

How did you feel about your character's demise when you first read the script?
