'I DIDN'T FEEL COMFORTABLE'

'THE BODY' BARES ALL ABOUT HER STRUGGLE TO FIND CONFIDENCE

She's graced the cover of Sports Illustrated's annual swimsuit issue a whopping five times, walked the runway for the world's most iconic fashion houses and was dubbed “The Body” by Time magazine early in her career, so self-doubt isn't something that generally comes to mind when considering Elle Macpherson.

However, speaking to WHO recently, the 61-year-old revealed that confidence, or her lack of it, stole the satisfaction from some of the pinnacle moments of her career.

"It meant that I didn't feel comfortable in front of the camera," she admits of the self-consciousness that crept in early on. "I wanted to do a really good job and I didn't have a lot of experience and I just felt very uncomfortable along the way. And so my lack of confidence meant that it sort of robbed me of the joy of the experience at times."

While Macpherson notes it was "such an interesting time" for her, she remembers moments when she would see glimmers of the confidence she would come to find.
