When it comes to the country music scene, Orville Peck is redefining the landscape. Known for his signature masks, genre-bending songs and message of acceptance (Peck is among the few openly gay country singers signed to a major label), the South African musician, 36, has earned praise from fans and fellow artists alike.

"There are a million different types of country fans [and] a million different types of country artists. It's long overdue for those people getting a chance to sort of shine," says Peck. "[Inclusion has] become a big part of what I do and stand for," he adds. "Country music literally started from completely diverse roots. So it should be for everybody."
