CHRIS KLEIN From Teen Dream to Scream Machine
Us Weekly
|June 23, 2025
To prepare for his sinister role as Dan Falconer in the nostalgia-soaked Netflix slasher Fear Street: Prom Queen, Chris Klein did his (gory) homework: “I went back and watched horror films that influenced me in my youth,” he shares.
-
“A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, just to really dig into the timeline and tone of this movie.” The Election and American Pie alum, 46, talks to Us about happily graduating from teen idol to big bad.
Prom Queen is so fun and campy!
It’s the reason I wanted to do the movie — it just leaps off the page. That’s really part of the '80s and '90s horror genre that I appreciated. Camp can be a big choice, and I auditioned for the part and went for it and they liked what I did. I can’t express the amount of fun I had playing Dan, and playing with Katherine Waterston [who stars as his wife Nancy]. She is so amazing.
