WILLIAM OPENS UP ABOUT DUTY AND FAMILY

|October 13, 2025
The Prince of Wales spoke candidly about the "hardest" year of his life, protecting his family and "doing the job"

Prince William has admitted feeling "overwhelmed" by his family’s recent health worries, revealing his wife Catherine and father King Charles’ cancer diagnoses took him to “not great places”.
And one of his biggest concerns was the possible “knock-on effects” on his three children.
It is thought Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and seven-year-old Prince Louis, were told the devastating news of Kate’s cancer in February 2024, a few weeks after their mother’s abdominal surgery.
But speaking to actor Eugene Levy for his Apple TV+ docuseries The Reluctant Traveler, William said all three have “managed brilliantly”.
“Everyone has their own coping mechanisms for these sorts of things and children are constantly learning and adapting,” he told the Schitt’s Creek star. “We try to make sure we give them the security and the safety that they need. We’re a very open family, so we talk about things that bother us and things that trouble us, but you never quite know the knock-on effects that it can have.”
Asked how Kate and the king are doing after finishing their respective treatments, William - who was speaking in February - said “things are good” and that Kate being in remission was “great news”.
