'I didn't know how much I'd miss Spencer

I'm A Celebrity contestant Vogue Williams has revealed how she turned to hypnotherapy to overcome her fear of cockroaches before going into the jungle.

The presenter and podcaster sought help before the series after an ordeal in Spain when she spotted one in an ensuite bathroom — then refused to sleep with husband Spencer Matthews in their bedroom for three nights.

The 40-year-old tells us, "I thought, 'This isn’t right, I'm going to need to try and do something to not be so frightened of them.' I actually haven't really been that scared of them any more."

Vogue was sworn to secrecy about going on I'm A Celebrity so she couldn't tell the hypnotherapist too much. She says, "I was very careful and said 'insects' instead. She usually helps you give up things such as anxiety."

The hypnotherapy sessions ended up being better suited for seeing the odd cockroach on the ground rather than having thousands of them poured over her head.

She admits, “Did it work? I don’t know. Am I glad I did it? Yes — because maybe it gave me a slight edge.”

And so it appeared as she shrugged off the bugs to win sweets for the camp in the Jungle Nursery trial.
