ENJOYING A PERENNIAL ROYAL EVENT THE KING AND QUEEN VISIT THE SANDRINGHAM FLOWER SHOW AHEAD OF THEIR SUMMER BREAK

But last week, the King came face to face with a royal image with a difference – his own likeness in pie form.

His Majesty, 74, was shown the baked treat by the Queen, 76, who called him over after telling onlookers, “It looks just like my husband.”

Pointing it out to him, she said, “There’s a very, very nice pastry.”

The King giggled as he took in the pie, with its decorative crown and distinctive ears, saying, “It’s an artwork, I think.” As he walked away, he joked, “Looks like something out of Wallace & Gromit!”

Her Majesty had been inspecting rows of home-baked goods in a tent at the 140th Sandringham Flower Show, held in the grounds of the monarch’s Norfolk home.
